August 03, 2009
We turned over the calendar page to August this morning and kissed our wonderful July goodbye. What a beautiful month it was. We saw new things, met new friends and visited new places. We celebrated our Country's Birthday by making red, white and blue layered Jello. Our buddy Jesse had his first day. We went to the Ogden Dinosaur Museum. We made fudgsicles, Popsicles and snow cones. The nice people at "Snowies" snow cone machine place donated a beautiful snow cone machine and several flavors to our center. What a nice thing to do. We have had a lot of cool refreshing treats this past month. We swam at the McQueen's and at my house. We went on a road trip to Bear Lake where we had a picnic and a milk Shake!. Personally I thought it would be a stressful event but it turned out to be a favorite! Thank you Stacy for persisting. Nick and Jessica met us there to visit with Daniel and Chris's Uncle Robert and Aunt Krista came to say "hello". Tracy Aviary was a favorite of the month as well. The show they have at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM is top notch. Kathy Barrett was a big help on our busy days. Dillon also has come to volunteer and help here at the Center. We have really appreciated both of them and the energy they bring with them.
A special milestone came and went quietly on Saturday and that was the anniversary of our beloved Lifelong Learning Center. 1 year ago August 1st we stepped into the unknown and opened our doors. Thank you once again to the Bartons. Thank you also to the Browns, the McQueens, the Blairs, and the Lloyds for trusting and hoping with us. What a really wonderful year it has been! Here's to many many more beautiful months that turn into terrific years!
